Scott Martinez, NLEP President

Scott Martinez brings over a decade and a half of economic leadership to his new role as President of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership. A native of Laurel, Mississippi, Scott holds a Bachelors degree from Ole Miss as well as a Master of Science degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a Certified Economic Developer, as designated by the International Economic Development Council.

Prior to joining NLEP, Scott headed up the Hutto Economic Development Corporation, which serves one of the fastest-growing suburbs outside of Austin, Texas. Martinez also developed and led economic development efforts in Round Rock, Texas and served as Associate Director of the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council in the Houston, Texas metro area for five years.

He worked at the Mississippi Development Authority with Hurricane Katrina redevelopment efforts, as well as, in the Global Business division of the agency.

Scott is active in the International Economic Development Council and serves on its Accredited Economic Development Organization Oversight Committee.

Liz McCain, Vice President of Business Development

With 21 years of economic development experience, Liz actively recruits prospective companies to North Louisiana. She also helps existing employers with their growth plans. Prior to working for NLEP, Liz held a similar position at the Great Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of CoreNet, IAMC and LIDEA, as well as, a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. Her knowledge of business incentives and commitment to customers make her a strong advocate for your business.

Tim Miles, Vice President of Business Development

Tim coordinates NLEP’s national business development marketing strategy, aggressively recruiting new companies and offering customized site selection services. Tim is a member of IEDC (International Economic Development Council), LIDEA (Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association) and  a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. His professional experience also includes 18 years with UPS and several years with KMC Telecom, Centurytel Solutions and the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. As the Vice President of Business Councils with the Shreveport Chamber, Tim's primary initiatives were to encourage and support the growth of small businesses in Northwest Louisiana with emphasis on minority and women-owned firms. 

As a lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA, Tim is very passionate about his community and North Louisiana. He served on various boards from Southern University Shreveport Foundation Advisory Board to the Hal Sutton Foundation Advisory Board. Tim also finds time to officiate local high school basketball games.  He graduated from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas.

 

 

Liz Pierre, Vice President of Business Development

Liz works with companies considering locating or expanding in North Louisiana. She also administers the federal Renewal Community incentive program for Ouachita Parish. Liz began her career as an attorney, earning her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center, and her B.S. in Business Administration from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Liz is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.  Her attention to detail and dedication to clients make Liz a strong advocate for your business growth. Liz is very active in her community, serving as a board member with NOVA and Workforce Investment Board (WIB).

Angie leads NLEP’s workforce marketing program, called North Louisiana Employment Opportunities Network or NEON. This award-winning workforce recruitment programs helps business find the qualified employees they need to grow in North Louisiana. Angie is a Shreveport native and a graduate of Centenary College. She earned her MBA and MA in International Affairs from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. For twelve years, Angie worked for a global private equity firm, focusing on Latin American infrastructure finance. Angie is committed to volunteering in her community. She has been recognized as a "Community Gem" by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana.

Christine directs NLEP’s communication strategies and marketing efforts. With nearly 22 years of communications, marketing and economic development experience, Christine is focused on enhancing the awareness of NLEP and changing perceptions of North Louisiana. Christine previously worked as the state marketing specialist for a network of Louisiana Small Business Development Centers, and as an anchor/reporter for KTBS in Shreveport, LA and KNOE in Monroe, LA. She earned three Louisiana Associated Press Awards for her feature writing and investigative journalism. Christine graduated cum laude from The American University in Washington, D.C. with a BA in Communications.

Michele provides administrative support, accounting and grant management. As an important part of the NLEP team, Michele assists staff in providing the best possible service to our clients. Michele moved here from Dallas, Texas where she worked for Delta Airlines as an international reservations specialist.  Her prior experience also included working as a database manager for Burnett’s Staffing; as a personal assistance for Dallas-based Ashwood Investments; and as a human resource/accounts payable specialist for Atlantic Industrial Services. 

 

Diane Rasberry, Economic Development Assistant

Diane Rasberry provides administrative support, investor relations assistance and event planning for NLEP. Diane is a North Louisiana native, hailing from Jonesboro. She began her career as legal assistant with a Monroe law firm. She also worked for as a legislative assistant for former U.S. Congressman Jerry Huckleby for four years in his Monroe Office. Her career would eventually take her to Sacramento, Ca., where she worked  for a California Assembly woman as a legislative assistant. In 2000, she return to her home state and worked for the Louisiana Bankers Association in Baton Rouge. She started with NLEP in January 1, 2011 as a "Regionalism Works" campaign assistant before joining our staff permanently 9 months later.
