The historic DeSoto Parish Courthouse symbolizes the rich history of the parish, where many Civil War battles were fought. Built in 1911, the two-story brick building is on the National Registry of Historic Places. In 1997, the citizens of DeSoto Parish voted to fund the renovation of the courthouse and annex. Today, the courthouse remains a working building for many parish agencies.
