(Mansfield, La.) Blazer Construction Company expands its Mansfield, Louisiana operations, opening a water transfer and equipment rental division in the DeSoto Parish community. Nearly 100 company executives and employees, local elected officials, business leaders and North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP) celebrated the expansion on October 18, 2012 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and luncheon.
The new water transfer and equipment rental division, which will employ six to 20 people, services natural gas drilling operations in the Haynesville Shale. The company transfers water from the source to the pad where hydraulic fracturing is occurring during the process of extracting natural gas from the shale rock.
As a leading oilfield services construction company, Blazer Construction currently employs 250 people. The company has three aggregate railyards in Mansfield, La., Simsboro, La., and Haughton, La. They also have satellite yards in Carrizo Springs, Tx., Nixon, Tx. and soon one in Pecos, Tx.
Blazer is dedicated to supporting the local community by participating in local drives and fundraisers. The company supports the American Cancer Society and St. Judes Children’s Hospital. Since the passing of Jimmy Powell in 2010, the family (now three generations) and employees continue to maintain a strong presence in the Mansfield community.
