North Louisiana's two primary commercial service airports underwent major renovations to update their functionality and convenience for travelers. The remodeling also created a better first impression for the region. The Monroe Regional Airport (pictured here) undertook a $36 million renovation project to build a new terminal building.

North Louisiana Airports: One Flight to the Rest of the World

 
North Louisiana is served by two primary commercial service airports, two regional airports and 18 general aviation airports. The region’s two primary commercial service airports offer direct flights to nearby international hubs, such as Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Memphis.

SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT (SHV):

Approximately 455,000 passengers a year travel through the recently renovated Shreveport Regional Airport, which is accessible by I-20 and I-49. Owned by the City of Shreveport, SHV is served by a number of major Airlines and their affiliates, offering direct flights to many major U.S. hub airports in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, and Orlando. More than 20 nonstop departures operate from SHV daily with over 1,000 seats available, nearly 50% more than any other airport within a 2-hour drive. Learn more

Shreveport Regional Airport is recognized as the second busiest air cargo airport in Louisiana.  With daily service by FedEx Express and United Parcel Service operating Airbus wide-body aircrafts, customers can ship overnight cargo or parcels to anywhere in the world. Additionally, SHV supports an industrial park with two certified sites:

MONROE REGIONAL AIRPORT (MLU)

A brand new $36 million state-of-the-art Monroe Regional Airport terminal welcomes travelers to North Louisiana. The show-stopping facility features vaulted ceilings, native Louisiana wood and stonework, along with all the conveniences that makes traveling easier. Learn more 

While the new renovations have propelled MLU into the future, the airport still represents a large piece of Monroe's history.  From the “Flying Tigers” of General Claire Lee Chennault to the birthplace of Delta Airlines, MLU continues to evolve as an important asset and landmark for the community.
 
Owned by the City of Monroe, MLU is served by three major airlines offering nonstop flights to major U.S. hub cities with connections worldwide. The Monroe Regional Airport also provides general aviation services, commercial and cargo service for North Louisiana and surrounding states of Arkansas and Mississippi. The airport is accessible by Interstate 20 and U.S. 80/Kansas Lane. The Monroe Regional Airport also offers 2,600 acres of land for industrial and commercial development and is located adjacent to the Monroe Air Industrial Park.
