NLEP Director Honored as Rising Young Alumni

MONROE, La. — Alberta Brown Green, North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP) Director of Information Technology Initiatives, will be honored as University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Rising Young Alumni during the ULM homecoming festivities Saturday, October 3, 2015.  Green is based at the NLEP Monroe office and heads up business recruitment and retention efforts focused on expanding North Louisiana’s technology sector.

“I am honored to be named the 2015 Rising Young ULM Alumni,” said Green, NLEP Director of IT Initiatives.  “I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and that education prepared me well for my career at NLEP in economic development.”

Green joined NLEP on August 28, 2015 after working at CenturyLink where she served as a Sourcing Recruiter, a Lead Organizational Effectiveness Consultant and a Leadership Development Consultant.  Prior to joining CenturyLink, Green worked at ULM for more than four years in various roles, including as the Director of ULM’s Career Connections and as a career counselor.

The selection criteria for the Rising Young Alumni Award include: the recipient must be under 40 years of age; a ULM graduate who is involved in the community and with philanthropy; active with annual alumni gifts; and donates to other ULM programs.

Green is very involved in the community, serving on numerous boards including the Board of Directors of University Health Conway. She was also featured last year as the “Top 20 under 40” recipient for Northeast Louisiana.  During her ULM student career, Green was a member of the “Sound of Today” ULM Marching Band, and she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
