SHREVEPORT- MONROE, La. — Scott Martinez, CEcD, President of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP), was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) at IEDC's 2015 Annual Conference, which was held October 4-7 in Anchorage, AK. Martinez will serve a two-year term on the board of the largest economic development professional organization in the world serving 4,600 members.

It validates the work of NLEP for me to be selected to serve on this prestigious board,” said Scott Martinez, NLEP President. “I am excited to work with my colleagues as IEDC continues to meet the needs of the economic development profession.”

Martinez leads one of only 43 Accredited Economic Development Organizations (AEDO) in North America. NLEP’s team of economic developers provides professional economic development services to the 14 parish region of North Louisiana, including lead generation and prospect management.
Scott has been very active in IEDC and currently serves on its Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) Oversight Committee. He has been an instructor at Texas A&M University’s Texas Basic Economic Development Course and is currently an instructor at the University of Southern Mississippi’s True South Basic Economic Development Course.
