    NLEP Showcases Shreveport-Bossier to National Site Selectors


    SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. — North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP), an Accredited Economic Development Organization, will showcase Shreveport-Bossier to an influential group of national site selectors during our 2017 NLEP Site Selectors Guild Familiarization Tour from October 4th to 6th.  NLEP annually hosts five members of the Site Selectors Guild, the world’s foremost association for professional site selection consultants. These consultants provide location strategy to corporations across the globe from every industry sector. They have guided and influenced the corporate location decisions of major Fortune 500 companies, including IBM, Apple, Coca-Cola, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Toyota, and Procter & Gamble.

    The site selectors will tour companies and assets in Shreveport-Bossier, hear first-hand about our workforce and business climate, and meet with key stakeholders and business leaders.  The site selectors will receive a comprehensive overview of opportunities and programs in our region as well as tour Metro Aviation, Eatel Business Tier III Data Center, CSRA, Bossier Parish Community College and the Port of Caddo-Bossier. The media are invited to attend the tour at Metro Aviation, 1214 Hawn Ave., Shreveport on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 3pm. (Media must remain with the tour.)

     Angelos Angelou brings 30 years of experience in site location, economic and business development consulting. AngelouEconomics is a leading U.S. economic development consultancy. The firm has worked on nearly $18 billion worth of economic development projects for Fortune 1000 clients throughout the world.
     
    Prior to starting AngelouEconomics, Angelos spent nearly 12 years with the Austin Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of Economic Development. During his time at the chamber, Angelos was responsible for the recruitment of 400 technology companies and some 70,000 employees. These companies include IBM, Apple, Samsung, Motorola, AMD, Cypress Semiconductor, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, and Sematech. Angelos is widely regarded as an expert in technology-based economic development and considered the chief architect in the establishment of Austin as a nationally recognized high-tech center.
     
    Angelou holds a Master’s degree in Economics, Summa Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has also completed one year towards his Ph.D. in Economics at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Angelou also received the Economic Development of the Year award by Site Selection Magazine. He was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the oversight board of CPRIT, a $3 billion grant fund for cancer-related commercialization and R&D.


    Deane Foote, President/CEO
    Foote Consulting Group, LLC – Phoenix, AZ

    Deane Foote has over 30 years of economic development and site selection experience. As President and CEO of Foote Consulting Group (FCG), a Phoenix-based consulting firm, Foote has worked with Fortune 500 clients, including MeadWestvaco, Staples, Simplot, TranSystems, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, and Sisener, a Spanish renewable energy company.
     
    Foote was formerly Senior Project Manager for Real Estate and Economic Development with Jacobs (formerly Carter & Burgess), where he directed site selection and economic development projects. He was also a Vice President with Paragon Decision Resources, Inc., a full-service relocation company, in charge of site selection and economic development. Foote was the President of the Greater Urbana-Champaign (IL) Economic Development Corporation.
     
    He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. Deane is a founding Board Member and Treasurer of the Site Selectors Guild, Inc., a professional association of the top site selectors in the world.

    J.M. Mullis, Inc. provides professional project location specialist services on an international basis for various private client groups in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Mike Mullis has worked on site selection projects involving the following industry sectors: aerospace, automotive, food processing, distribution, e-commerce, and headquarters.
     
    For the last 38 years, Mullis has assisted Fortune 500 clients on projects, ranging from site selection, workforce analysis and development, real estate and incentives negotiations, financing, and physical development. His long list of notable clients includes Academy Sports + Outdoors, American Eagle Outfitters, AutoZone, Boeing, Briggs & Stratton, Continental, Hormel, Kohler, MARS, Pirelli, Rockwell Automation, Spirit AeroSystems, Tractor Supply Company, Toyota, and Wal-Mart distribution centers.

He further pursued doctoral studies in urban geography, regional economics, industrial location theory, and urban planning at USC, UCLA, and the University of British Columbia.
