Tower Place Emerges as Top Asset in IT Corridor

MONROE, La. — Tower Place in Monroe expands North Louisiana’s technology assets and serves as one of the region’s premier plug-and-play technology centers in our growing IT corridor.  North Louisiana’s IT corridor is anchored by three of the leading information technology companies in the United States: IBM (Fortune 24); CenturyLink (Fortune 159) and CSRA (Fortune 229).  In just the last few years, these three companies created more than 2,000 new technology jobs in North Louisiana.

IBM has currently located its Client Innovation Center at Tower Place, a 104,844 square-foot Class A building. The IBM Client Innovation Center provides a variety of IT and consulting services to clients from maintenance and support of existing business systems to testing and new application development.

“As Louisiana’s state economic development agency, LED has successfully attracted many of the leading software development and IT businesses from around the world,” LED Secretary Don Pierson said. “Tower Place embodies a key component of our strategy – providing outstanding business sites and best-in-the-nation workforce development programs. This proven strategy makes Louisiana an optimal location for business success.”

Tower Place is set up for an IT operation, call center, data management, or technology company to start immediately. Completely wired with CAT 6 cabling and high-speed fiber optics, this plug-and-play technology center is furnished with 755 pre-wired cubicles. The seven LAN rooms on each floor and existing network hardware allow a tech company to launch operations almost immediately with minimal start-up costs. Tower Place also has a central data management/server room on the fifth floor, 12 conference rooms, multiple training rooms and a new interactive, multi-media collaboration space.

“Tower Place provides plug-and-play capabilities for technology companies looking to locate in North Louisiana’s growing information technology corridor. The seven-story building has been completely renovated, offering the latest telecommunications capabilities, redundant power and fully furnished spaces,” said Joe Holyfield, Partner, Tower Place.

“North Louisiana is targeting technology and IT companies in order to leverage our growing IT assets and higher education programs. Having a state-of-the-art facility like Tower Place conveniently located near CenturyLink and currently housing IBM’s operations supports the region’s transition to a knowledge economy,” said Scott Martinez, President, North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP).

NLEP, an accredited regional economic development organization, works alongside Louisiana Economic Development and the region’s 11 colleges and universities to grow our technology workforce.  NLEP’s Top Skills Workforce Program helps to ensure a strong workforce pipeline for current and future employers by encouraging innovation in K-12 education, strengthening the alignment between industry and education and developing tools to attract and retain talent.
